Privacy notice
Draft notice. Have it checked before launch – the details depend on which form and payment services you end up using.
Who we are
Sawbridgeworth Land Trust is a community benefit society, registered society no. [to be confirmed]. For data protection purposes the data controller is the society itself; enquiries go to hello@sawbridgeworthlandtrust.org.
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, email address, and whatever you tell us in your message.
- When you join: your name, address, email and membership payments, which we must keep in a register of members.
- When you donate: your name, email, the amount, and a Gift Aid declaration if you make one. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
This website
The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers; if you would rather avoid that, the fonts can be self-hosted instead.
How long we keep it
Membership and financial records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep them. Enquiries are deleted once they are dealt with, unless you have asked to stay on our mailing list.
Who we share it with
Nobody, except the service providers we need to run the society – a form provider, a payment provider, and our bank – and HMRC if we claim Gift Aid. We do not sell or swap our lists.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Write to us and we will act on it within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
